Commission Rules

These rules / pricings are liable to change. If you have any query's / questions then don't be afraid to note or e-mail me.

My Reserved Rights:
- I reserve the right to decline any commission if I do not feel comfortable with the subject or if I am too busy at that moment (if the latter is the case I will perhaps notify you an estimate of when I may be able if that is what you want)
- I reserve the right to use the painting as I see fit. This means I can post it on art based websites (such as here on DeviantArt or other related groups) and sell prints. You can not claim the artwork as your own, though I am perfectly happy for you to share and use it for layout/avatar ect. If you do share this I would appreciate credit, though its not mandatory.

What I do:
*I am willing to be flexible in what I will paint, just be mindful I am better at some things than others.
* I only do digital paintings.
* Own Characters I am fine with. By commissioning me you are giving me permission to paint them. This is unlike Fan-art, see below.
What I don't do/prefer not to do:
* I will not paint anything pornographic or sexual, though I may agree to do pin-ups or a painting with faint sexual tones I will not paint actual intercourse or genitals. Nor will I even touch the subject of violent sexual scenes. It makes me very uncomfortable.
* No Yaoi (or whatever its called)
* Though I don't mind a bit of gore and violence I may reject a commission if I deem it too excessive.
* I will not paint anything obviously offensive. So don't ask me to paint something that attacks peoples religion, sexuality, appearance ect.
* Fan-art is a tricky subject. I am not comfortable with the idea of making money from someone else's designs and ideas without permission. So they rules are that I will not copy an already existing design. For example I will not paint the character Redtooth as he appeared in the TV series adaptation of the book Redwall, seen here ( [link] ), but will do my own interpretation, as seen here ( [link] )
* I will not do things that are too romantic and, in my view, sickly. Please don't ask me to paint wedding scenes, 'cute' baby portraits, and kissing scenes. I don't like looking at that type of art and certainly wouldn't enjoy painting it either.

Commissioning me :

Send me a note or e-mail with as much information as you can (characters, setting, colours, style, reference pictures) and I will answer you.
After I agree to the commission things will go through the following steps:
1. I will send you a selection of quick thumbnail sketches and ideas for you to pick from.
2. I will do a basic renders with colour and send you a preview (with a watermark) so you can tell me if you want something changed.
3. I will do the final renders. At this point you should be ready to pay me. I will e-mail you when I have finished.
4. I will wait for payment.
5. When you have paid me I will upload the painting.
6. (optional) If you want me to make Print option available I will be happy to do so. Though I would prefer if you told me this before I start painting so I can set the print size and layout. Of course you'll have to pay for the print as well, I'll try to reduce the price as much as possible, but it depends upon the printing service I use at the time.



Request rules.

I sometimes do request because I am generally interested in what other people may come up with and it might get me painting something different.
PLEASE NOTE: Request are not always open. Only when I have a journal saying otherwise, and this is rare. When requests are closed they are closed. No exceptions.
PLEASE NOTE: I do these request journals way in advance of when I'm actually planning to paint it. This gives people time to see the journal and say if they are interested or not. I will only close and choose someone when I am finishing the painting preceding the planned request. Be patient! It's not like you are paying.

1) I will ask people who are interested to leave a one word comment on the journal to notify me that they are interested. DO NOT say what you want drawn until I send you a note (if you are lucky enough to get picked)
2) I will select someone at random. No exceptions.
3) I will then send you a note asking what you want.

Your Request.

1) What I do and will not do are the same as those in my commission rules. ( See Here [link]) However there is ONE exception. I WILL do Fan-art, if that is what you want
2) Unlike commissions the final judgement on what the painting with look like is entirely up to me. You can suggest to me what you want in the painting (pose, colouring, setting, mood ect) but I have the right to something different if I feel like it, though I'll try to keep as close to your suggestions as possible.
3) Because this is free/unpaid work, if I do get a commission while painting your request I will put yours aside to work on that one.
